ROLL CALL – Absences from Red Lion, The Cube and Welcome Sailor.

Thanked all teams for a great season which ran smoothly and with no problems. Thanked everyone for attending the knock out competitions and finals night and to all venues for hosting. Thanked all teams for sending results promptly and thanked Dave Sage for uploading the results and for his hard work with the website.

Thanked Bernie for the fixtures.

Bernie: Season to start on 1st April. 16 teams. No byes. Knockout cup for both divisions. It was voted and agreed to change the format of the knockout cup from 15 games to 18. Format – 6 singles, 3 pairs, 3 pairs, 6 singles. If it’s a draw (9-9), the captain will nominate a player to play the deciding, final game - best of 3.

Roy: Treasurer’s report. Trophies this season came to £683. Thanked Julian for the trophies. Also thanked Carl for sorting the trophies – we now have a cup for every winner for the winter season and a shield for every runner up for the winter season. Cost £180, set now complete. £162.91 left in kitty. Reminded shields to be signed for before taking at end of meeting. Any trophies not returned at the end of the season, the teams are liable for the cost. Subs £50 at end of meeting. Envelope has subs receipt, team reg sheet and enough results sheets for all season, but everything is on website anyway.

Kate: It was agreed a rule needed to be written for if a team plays a player in the second half of the season who isn’t signed on. It was voted and decided that if a player appears on a results registration sheet in the second half of the season who has not been signed on, the team will receive a 5 point deduction.

It was voted and decided that players now need to play 5 games rather than 3 to qualify to play in the knockout competitions.

Kate: REMINDERS… Rules will not be changed mid-season and will be adhered to. No allowances for postponements unless bad weather and ALL fixtures postponed. Rules are on website, as is all the paperwork for knockout draws, results and reg sheets etc. Must play 5 games a season to qualify for knockout competitions. Must send photo of results to WhatsApp group and photo of signing on sheet and draw at knock out comps. No new signings after half way point – reminder will be sent out.

Carl: Discussion re venue for Finals Night. It was agreed and decided that Finals Night will be at The Bell as a neutral venue and the AGM will be at The Norton.

It was noted that having the division 2 singles all at the same venue worked really well.

Reminder that if you don’t attend the knockout competitions, you will not be asked to host.
